Thomas Druyen
Thomas Druyen is one of the most renowned wealth and billionaire researchers in Europe. With his visionary way of thinking he is considered an expert on the complex effects of demographic change all over the world, the institute in Vienna is so far unique. His most recent research is in the field of future psychology and future management. It is about the better and preventive use and emotional understanding of digitization, globalization and artificial intelligence for business, politics and society.
Druyen studied law, sociology, journalism and philology as well as anthropology at the University of Colombo and the University of Münster. From 2006 to 2010 he served there as director of the Forum for Research on Wealthibility. He also worked at the Institute for Cultural and Media Management at Freie Universität Berlin from 2005 to 2007. Since 2007 he has been a full professor at Sigmund Freud PrivatUniversität in Vienna, in 2009 he has been appointed Director of the Institute for Wealthibility and Wealth Psychology, and since 2015 he is also serving as Founder and Director of the Institute for Future Psychology and Future Management, which is funded by Allianz Group. The focus of the work is the question of how prevention, anticipation and provision can be learned, trained and implemented in a better way in future.
Druyen is a sociologist, wealth psychologist, book author, consultant and founder of wealthibility research and future psychology. As a scientific and essayist publicist, he has written many articles or columns and given interviews. As an editor, he has launched authoritative studies, such as: „Reichtum und Vermögen – zur gesellschaftlichen Bedeutung der Reichtums- und Vermögensforschung“ (2009), Vermögen in Deutschland – Heterogenität und Verantwortung (2011), Vermögenskultur – Verantwortung im 21. Jahrhundert (2011), as well as „Verantwortung und Bewährung – eine vermögenskulturelle Studie“ (2012) and „Drei Generationen im Gespräch – Eine Studie zum intergenerativen Zukunftsmanagement“ (2015).In March 2018 the latest study, „Die ultimative Herausforderung – über die Veränderungsfähigkeit der Deutschen“, will be available, published by Springer. Using a new method of future navigation, 2000 interviews were conducted to analyze the status of respondents' future viability. In the future, this outstanding “future competence” will also be carried out in other countries and major cities.
With his 2003 book "Olymp des Lebens - the new image of age" and the book "Goldkinder", published in 2007, he achieved national and international recognition. His publishing activities are mainly related to Wealthibility and wealth as well as social issues regarding the consequences of demographic change. His book, published in 2012, "Krieg der Scheinheiligkeit" ( "War of Hypocrisy"), was received medially as a brilliant analysis of contemporary social communication.
Druyen also acts as a President of the Board of Curators in various institutions. From 2000 to 2004, he was chairman of the Swiss Peter Ustinov Foundation and from 2001 - 2014 chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dialogue Generations Foundation in Düsseldorf. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of PHINEO AG, member of the Görres-Gesellschaft and Global Ambassador for the Alternative Nobel Prize in Stockholm. Over the years, he has spoken with outstanding personalities all over the world. He has co-ordinated projects in India, Morocco, Kenya, Zimbabwe and South Africa for humanitarian institutions.
